Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Harry Potter - (played by Daniel Radcliffe)
Well, Harry is the main character of the series and we see the majority of the series through his eyes. He’s such a complex character and he has so many layers. He has had such a horrible and grievous upbringing that makes his acts of bravery and daring so much more amazing. The way he still continues to fight despite all of his losses is inspiring and he is an amazing fictional character. I think Dan grew into the role exceptionally well and he was the perfect Harry.
Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Rubeus Hagrid - (played by Robbie Coltrane)
I love Hagrid as a character because he is so kind-hearted and loving and friendly that you can’t not love him. His relationship with the trio is one of the most beautiful relationships in the books and films. He is such an important figure for all three of them and I find it really interesting to read/watch. Robbie is amazing in this role and he plays Hagrid to exactly how I imagined him.
Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Lavender Brown - (played by Jessie Cave)
I have a lot of both respect and love for Lavender. The hat for her confuses me so, so much. I don’t understand why people hate on her. The hate for her just makes me love her either more. Lavender Brown is a brave, loyal, determined and realistic character! Lavender, especially in HBP, is a lot like thousands or girls, and boys, across the world. She’s clingy and obsessed and a little annoying, but she changes! She matures. Between Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows, Lavender grew up a lot. She was suddenly in a world where muggle borns were being hunted and killed and fear was injected into every part of her life. She could have easily just given up and just let everything go on as it was, but she didn’t. She joined Dumbledore’s Army and restarted the rebellion. She helped, albeit in a small way, in the rebellion at Hogwarts and fought for what she believed was right and the good thing to do. When Harry arrived back at the school, she decided to fight with him, and Ron and Hermione. She wasn’t bitter that Ron dumped her, she just got on with it and fought. This shows how much she grew up! She died, in the movies, fighting for the right side and cause that she believed in. Lavender died a hero’s death and she still receives hate for it?! It’s ridiculous. Plus, Jessie Cave is perfect in the role and she delivers Lavender spot on!
Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Ronald Weasley - (played by Rupert Grint)
I used to dislike Ron. I don’t even know why, but re-reading the series really made me love him. He is the person that kept the Golden Trio together all those years. When he’s gone in Deathly Hallows, Hermione and Harry become sort of lifeless, shells of what they used to be. Without Ron, and the hunt for horcrux looming over them, I think they’d have fallen apart. He provides the greatest comic relief, but he’s a deep character too. His love for Hermione throughout the series is amazing and so touching and his love and care for his family is beautiful. Rupert Grint is amazing in the role, and severely underrated.
