Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Ronald Weasley - (played by Rupert Grint)
I used to dislike Ron. I don’t even know why, but re-reading the series really made me love him. He is the person that kept the Golden Trio together all those years. When he’s gone in Deathly Hallows, Hermione and Harry become sort of lifeless, shells of what they used to be. Without Ron, and the hunt for horcrux looming over them, I think they’d have fallen apart. He provides the greatest comic relief, but he’s a deep character too. His love for Hermione throughout the series is amazing and so touching and his love and care for his family is beautiful. Rupert Grint is amazing in the role, and severely underrated.
Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Draco Malfoy - (played by Tom Felton)
Draco intrigues me. The fact that he is drawn into the war and onto the dark side because of his family and their choices really show in the last two books, or three films. He becomes torn during this time and it’s so interesting to see him unsure on which side to go. I think, deep down, Draco is a good person but he’s been turned and manipulated so much by his family, especially his father and aunt, that he does all what he can to impress them.

Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Molly Weasley - (played by Julie Walters)
I love Molly Weasley. I love how much she cares for her family and how she attaches herself to people. She cares for her family dearly, but she also cares for Harry and Hermione, just like their her own children. I love how she smothers all of them and tries to make them feel just at home in the Burrow. In the final battle, I used to dislike how she defeated Bellatrix, another of my favourite characters, but I’m starting to like it now. How her desire to keep her family safe and her grief from her son dying drove her to defeat Bellatrix, she’s just inspiring. Julie Walters is flawless in the role, her facial expressions are perfect, especially in the last three films.
Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Nymphadora Tonks - (played by Natalia Tena)
Tonks is one of my favorite characters as she really amuses and entertains me. Her clumsiness is hilarious! I really love her relationship with Lupin, I think they’re great together and I’m so glad they got married in Deathly Hallows. Her metamorphmagus ability really interests me and I think it’d be so great just to change your appearance at will. In the films, I still like her and I like Natalia Tena plays her quite well, but I feel she doesn’t get enough time to shine. I know it’s hard to give every character their moment, but I was bit disappointed to see Tonks as little.

Top 20 Harry Potter Characters | Ginevra Weasley - (played by Bonnie Wright)
I love book!Ginny a lot. I think she’s a great character and I’ve really grown to love her. I like how she’s such a strong, female character and she’s fiercely loyal and brave and daring and I think she’s a great match for Harry. In the movies, I think that Bonnie is okay at playing Ginny, but sometimes she just makes the whole scene awkward and ruins the moment. Part of this, I think, is due to the writing. I wish they’d included Ginny into the movies more and added some of the charm, humor and passion of book!Ginny into the movies.

I love everything about Neville. I adore the fact that he was always considered a clumsy and, sometimes even, useless child and then he grew into such an amazing, inspirational and brave character. I love his whole back story about his parents, it’s so deep and it must have affected him so much. It’s such a tragic event and it’s worse than Harry’s parents in a way as they’re still alive but just vegetables. He’s also really funny and he always put a smile on my face whilst reading/watching.
